About Our Presenter, Rev. Alan Dietzenbach:

Besides for being the associate pastor at St. Raphael Cathedral and St. Patrick Church (where he also serves as the coordinator for Hispanic Ministry), he's also the chaplain for Mazzuchelli and Wahlert Catholic High Schools in Dubuque. After majoring in philosophy and Spanish at the St. Pius X Seminary program at Loras College in Dubuque, he completed his priest training at the Pontifical North American Seminary in Rome. His training allowed four years abroad. Dietzenbach studied in Spain and helped at a Mother Teresa-affiliated clinic in Ethiopia. In Italy, he served the elderly and AIDS patients. A native of St. Lucas, Iowa and the son of dairy farmers, he was ordained in 2012. He didn't assume he was destined to be a Roman Catholic priest. Growing up, he also envisioned himself as an actor, artist, architect, and anesthesiologist. Dietzenbach is the youngest priest in the Archdiocese of Dubuque. He finds the work of a priest exhilarating and humbling.
