September's presenter is Dana Starkell. When he was 19, Dana undertook a two-year voyage with his father and brother. From that experience, the true adventure story and international best-seller, "Paddle to the Amazon," was written, considered one of the greatest canoe adventures of all time. In the course of the journey, he cured his asthma, honed his skills as a classical guitarist, and learned a great deal about the people he met throughout the 13 countries they traveled through.
As a professional speaker, Dana has spoken at hundreds of schools, professional groups, and adventure organizations and made personal appearances on more than 200 television and radio programs, most notably, The Today Show and The Larry King radio show. His unique speaking ability and slide presentations have captivated audiences throughout North America. Dana's "Paddle to the Amazon" slide presentations are renowned for their emotional impact.
